Temple’s Former Select Board member Mike Darnell has launched a write-in campaign against incumbent Ken Caisse, who is on the ballot unopposed. Temple’s virtual Candidates Night is scheduled for Thursday at 7 p.m. There are three contested races on the ballot, for two Planning Board positions and a Trustee of the Trust Funds position. St Leger Races 2019

“I am running as a write-in candidate for the Town of Temple Select Board because of continuing decisions and actions by the incumbent that are contrary to State law and not in the best interests of our residents. I was a Select Board member for 6 years (2008-2014)and have the experience and training needed to do the job with fairness and transparency. When there are issues that need quick attention, I will call an emergency meeting as allowed by RSA and address the situation in public.

Spending town money and tax rates, especially during CoVid, are important to all residents. I have an MBA in finance and have been on the Temple Budget Advisory Committee for 9 years. I am experienced in financial management and can improve the financial operations in our town office. When I was a member of the Select Board, we struggled with every expenditure to be sure it was absolutely necessary. I will assure that each and every expenditure is fully discussed in a transparent open meeting. I will recommend to my fellow select board members that town finances be on the agenda at the first Select Board meeting of every month.

I will work for the entire town, not for special interests. People know that I have always shown respect for the public. Our town needs to return to openness, fairness, and make informed decisions that benefit the entire town.
